About

Vance Brinkley is an active digital journalist based out of Washington, DC. He is currently a freelance writer for several publications including OkayPlayer, Washington City Paper,  Mixologi, and The Undefeated. He was formerly a national correspondent and weekend reporter for AllHipHop.com, a general assignment reporter in St. Louis for The Northsider, an audio producer for the SiriusXM Sports Desk, and Digital Producer for the USA Today Network.

Prior to contributing to such sites, Vance covered the culture as a blogger for WPB Radio, where he was also a co-host for the primetime show, FM Radio 101 while interning for The Mellow Mix and Live Wired Morning Show. For all three shows, Vance covered news in both music and entertainment and soon started to monitor the shows' social media outlets. Vance spent a lot of his time covering music as a music editor at the MSU Spokesman and Media Coordinator at WEAA 88.9 for the show Strictly Hip Hop.

As media coordinator, he helped increase the popularity of the show's website by managing the show's social media, covering local concerts, writing articles on the site, and doing interviews with artists including Lupe Fiasco and Schoolboy Q. In 2014, Vance received the "Outstanding Alumni" award from his alma mater, Morgan State University, for his work in entertainment media and academia.
